Eastbourne Quiet Skate Practise and FREE Open Skate
The Quiet Skate - pre-booked limited number skating.
Generally held at Shinewater Sports Centre in the Winter months. (October-April). Sk8school run pre-booked un-supervised* practice sessions for limited number of skaters. These sessions run from 10am-11am on Sunday Mornings (But you can actually stay till 12 - so you get 2 hours for £4!).
The cost is only £4 per session - BUT they are pre-booked and pre-paid for the month.
Large discounts for booking more before September 15th.
Months run as follows: October, November, December and January (counting as one month to account for holiday period), February, March. 21 Session in all.
If you know you can't make a particular week in any month, you may send someone else in your place - but the charge is for the whole month. Share
Quality Eastbourne skating
Typically December and January loose half their Sundays due to the holidays, which is why we combine those periods into one booking.
People like these sessions because they know there will be limited numbers in the hall. Which means plenty of space.
Sk8school also run their Group lessons at this time but these people typically only use a quarter of the hall and don't move about much as they are all beginners.
Of course anyone who attends the best quality skate lessons in Eastbourne, or the Quiet Skate can of course stay on for the FREE Open Skate, straight afterwards. (So 2 hours for the price of 1!)

The FREE Open Skate
No need to book - just turn up! Share Shinewater 11am Sundays Winter Months.
Ideal Childrens indoor skating
This is the only FREE indoor skating in Eastbourne and runs 11am-12 each Sunday at Shinewater. There is no charge - you just turn up. It's un-interupted skating, typically with one game in the whole hour.
As it's free there could be any number of people in the hall - and Sk8school also runs its Kids Club at the same time (£5 Charge for organised skate session), which as well as being the best way for youngsters to learn to skate - also has the added benefit of keeping the kids out from under the skates of everyone else! It has been known for adults to join in the Kids Club as it's educational, quite taxing on their skating and of course great fun!
Special Points
* Unsupervised sessions... Isn't that dangerous?
Hardly! The Quiet Skate attracts a "certain kind of person" and Sk8school instructors are always on hand. We just mean that due to the type of people that attend and the low numbers its not the sort of event that needs loads of Skate Guards to maintain order.
Come and see what we mean! If you are not lucky enough to get one of the Quiet skate places - there's always the FREE Open skate to try straight afterwards.
